Making the Thanksgiving dinner can take you all day. And your hungry relatives and friends will not let you get fully concentrated on it, going in and out of the kitchen. And they will exhaust you with the same question asking over and over again: “When will the dinner be ready?”

If you are sick and tired of this situation and don’t want to experience it again, here is a good tip for you. Make some Thanksgiving appetizers ahead, which will help to keep your hungry relatives at bay. Here is a great combination of the appetizers which don’t even need to be reheated. LOADED MASHED POTATO BALLS

These mashed potato balls are crunchy on the outside and palatable but extremely soft and fluffy on the inside. This appetizer is a great way to use mashed potato leftovers; however, you can also make mashed potatoes for this purpose.

Along with mashed potatoes, you also need shredded cheddar cheese, bacon, chopped chives, and pepper to make the main mixture. You also need some ingredients for coating. These include eggs, flour, bread crumbs, and shredded cheese.

Start with combining the filling ingredients and making a mixture in a large bowl. So stir the mashed potatoes, bacon bits, and cheese, then add the chopped chives and pepper to taste.

Then make the breading ingredients. You need to make three bowls of coating ingredients. In one bowl, put the flour, bit the eggs in the other, and make a shredded cheese and bread crumbs mixture in the third bowl.

Make small balls from the potato mixture with the flour-dusted hands. You can use an ice cream scoop to measure the balls. Use your hands to roll them and make it perfectly round. Then again coat it with flour and set aside. Do this process until all the balls are ready. Take the balls and coat them with bitten egg. Make sure that it is completely coated with egg but don’t overlap. Drop the ball into bread crumbs and cheese mixture.

You have two cooking options for these mashed potato balls. You can fry them and bake them. If you want to try the frying method, fry them in hot oil over medium heat for 4 minutes on each side or until they are brown. Let them dry on a paper towel.

If you want to bake them, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and bake the balls for 5-8 minutes until they are brown.

BACON-WRAPPED PICKLES

Bacon-wrapped pickles are very unique, and they always disappear first from the table. They are so appetizing and crunchy you cannot end up just by eating one.

This recipe for bacon-wrapped pickles is very simple. It requires 3 ingredients and 5 minutes of preparation time. For this purpose, you just need pickle spears and bacon, ranch dressing, and some decorating herbs. But the last ingredient is optional.

You can buy already cut pickles from the store, or you can choose no-cut ones and divide them into four parts. Now, let’s pass to the baking process.

First of all, preheat the oven to 425 °F. Then take a slice of bacon and wrap a piece of pickle in it. Arrange the wrapped pickles on the baking sheet and transfer it into the oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until they are crunchy. Serve them with ranch or other sauces for dipping.

VEGGIE DIP

This veggie dip is among the most satisfying and yummy appetizers I have ever tried. It’s very creamy and is filled with herbs and garlic.

This is a very easy recipe with 5 minutes of the preparation process. You just mix all the ingredients and stir them in a mixing bowl. The main ingredients of the mixture are sour cream and mayonnaise. Along with them, you can use several spices. My recipe includes garlic powder, dried parsley, and tarragon, chopped chives, pepper, salt to taste.

So, you just need to buy all these ingredients and mix them. Serve this dip with some fresh vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, etc. But I think it is even more delicious the next day. You can make the dip mixture the night before and keep it in the refrigerator putting in the airtight container and serve the next day.

PUMPKIN PIE DIP

Pumpkin pie dip is another fascinating and addictive dip, which is very simple and requires a handful of ingredients. I know how to attract my relatives and serve them this pumpkin pie dip. They are crazy about it. This is how I can draw their attention and get fully concentrated on the Thanksgiving main dinner.

What you need to make this appetizer is cream cheese, pumpkin (canned), powdered sugar, and a bit ginger.

To make this delicious appetizer, first of all, take the cream cheese and powdered sugar and beat them in a large mixing bowl. When the mixture becomes fluffy, add the spices and pumpkin and continue stirring the whole mixture. To make it more inviting, you can also add whipped topping on the mixture.

When your appetizer is ready, refrigerate it for 20 minutes or more and serve it.

 

 

APPLE CHIPS

We have something here very special also for chips lovers. The apple chips are pleasantly crispy and addictive. But unlike the store-bought chips, they are also healthy. They contain no sugar and are baked, unlike the ones which are fried. This is why I surely say that they are healthy and you won’t worry about your health if you suddenly discover yourself eating all the bowl of chips.

So, what we need to bake them. It requires just apples and ground cinnamon. The baking process is a little bit longer; apples take 2-3 hours baking to get crispy and inviting. But in the end, your house will be filled with a wonderful smell.

First of all, preheat your oven to 200 degrees F. Then, line the baking sheets with the paper parchment. Take two racks and place them in your oven.

Then you must core the apple if you don’t want to make your chips with apple seeds. But you can skip this step if you don’t mind making chips with apple cores. You can use a kitchen appliance to core the apples and to make the process easier and fast. After coring the apples, slice them with the help of a mandolin or by hand. Arrange the apples on the baking sheet in a single layer. Put them far from each other so that they don’t stick to each other. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon on the sliced apples. Transfer the apples into the oven and start the baking process.

Bake them for one hour on two racks placed in the upper and lower thirds of the oven. Then take off the pan from the oven, rotate, and continue baking for 1 hour again. Actually, the baking time depends on the thickness of the apple slices.

If you think that they are baked enough, take a slice of apple, try it, and if it is crunchy enough, you can finish the baking process. But don’t hurry to take the pan out of the oven. Just turn it off and let the apples remain in the oven for an hour. This is for cooling them and giving more crispiness. If you think that in this case, they will get overcooked, you can remove them from the oven.

 

BACON SNACK BITES

Another fantastic appetizer, which will make everyone happy in the room. These bacon snack bites are among the dishes which are made quick and don’t require too many ingredients. Just two main ingredients, some seasonings, and you will create magic.

What you need is crackers and bacon stripes. Also, you can use pepper, parmesan, parsley, and other spices to make the bites more flavorful. And in the end, you can serve with ranch dressing or other sauces for dipping them into it.

The preparation process is not that hard. Firstly, preheat the oven to  350º F. Take a baking pan and line it with paper parchment. Arrange the crackers on the surface in a single layer and season it with spices. Then take the bacon slices and wrap the crackers in it.

Put the wrapped crackers on the baking sheet. Make sure that you put them on the seam-side so that they don’t get unwrapped during the baking process.

Transfer the pan into the oven and bake them until the bacon is baked wholly. It usually takes no more than an hour. Make sure that the crackers also get crunchy.

When they are baked, let them cool for some minutes and dish them, seasoning with the remaining spices. You can serve the wrapped crackers with ranch dressing or use other similar sauces for dipping the bites.
